3 things you should know about the Association de la Sommellerie international
In 2024 we were pleased to announce a three -year partnership with the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale (ASI).
The ASI was founded in 1969 and is a global non-profit organization that is devoted to the development, organization and recognition of the sommelier profession. As the official glass partner for ASI events, tastings and competitions worldwide, we look forward to combining two essential things: excellent wines and extraordinary glasses.
No. 1 The history of the ASI
ASI is a global association of sommelier associations that was founded in 1969. The aim of the ASI is to further develop the profession of sommelier, to promote and to establish uniform standards worldwide. Although its roots are in Europe, ASI is now represented on six continents. The members of the ASI are not individual sommeliers, but national sommelier associations. With 63 national associations as full members and five postulant countries, the ASI occupies a unique position to advance the discussion within the industry at international, national and local level. In recent years, ASI has increasingly focused on training and further education, both through training and by organizing sommelier competitions. As a result, the ASI was able to find valuable knowledge about Wine and win wine culture, restaurant service and the importance of service quality.

Has been since 2024 Stölzle Lausitz The exclusive partner of the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale (ASI). Asi as the official glass partner of the ASI are various Glass Series such as Exquisit, Quatrophil and Fino at events, tastings and competitions of the ASI worldwide. Thanks to their manual precision and elegant design, the glasses enable an optimal development of the wines and raise the tasting experience to a new level. No. 3 The events
An essential part of the partnership is to promote educational and training programs. In order to support the further training of sommeliers, various workshops, semi -nare and training are offered over the year. In 2024 this was a boot camp in Seville in September, Spain. In the RAH men of this event, sommeliers from all over the world received a high -quality, intensive three -day training course with master class, workshops and tastings. The “Asi Contest Best Sommelier of Europe, Africa and the Middle East 2024” took place in Belgrade, Serbia.
