Awards in series

At this year's Ambiente, the world's largest consumer goods trade fair, Stölzle Lausitz, the glass manufacturer from Weißwasser in Saxony, received numerous awards for products from its own development and production. The company thus sees itself confirmed in its consistently implemented product development as well as in the presentation of an innovative glass concept.

The completely new and innovative glass concept of the goblet glass series HIGHLIGHT was rewarded with the German Design Award. The champagne glass in the series is one of the 2020 winners of the coveted award in the Excellent Product Design Tabletop category. The German Design Award is one of the most prestigious design awards with great national and international significance. The prize is awarded for innovative products and projects in various categories by the German Design Council. A top-class international jury ensures the quality of the award.

In the case of HIGHLIGHT, a new type of technology is integrated into the base of the glass, which illuminates the stem of the glass once it has been lifted, creating a particularly atmospheric effect. The glass glows until it is put down again. Lifting the glass again immediately reactivates the light. The HIGHLIGHT glasses with their high stem, seamless transition to the goblet and the slender shape of the goblet ensure that even before the effective glow, the glasses make an appearance that lends elegance to special occasions. In addition to the champagne glass, the HIGHLIGHT concept also includes a white wine glass and the L'AMOUR champagne glass with satin hearts on the goblet.

The jury of the Tableware International Awards praised the HIGHLIGHT concept as a "truly exceptional new idea" that was perfectly implemented. In the Fine Glassware category, the champagne glass from the series is therefore one of the winners at the 2020 Awards of Excellence.

Stölzle Lausitz was honored twice at the DINEUS 2020, the grand prize of tableware. Held for the second time this year, the "Grand Prize of Table Culture" aims to "provide insights into table setting products and projects, strengthen the industry and emphasize the importance of table culture in today's world." The award-winning products included the colored ELEMENTS series in the "Bar Culture" category and the QUATROPHIL red wine glass in the "Gastronomy" category. In its statement, the jury attributed special characteristics to the products from Stölzle Lausitz. The ELEMENTS series, for example, "always makes a subtle difference", while the machine-produced red wine glass from the QUATROPHIL series is said to have a mouth-blown appearance. The characteristic shape and size make it an "all-purpose glass" for every requirement and every occasion.

"Needless to say, we are very pleased with the awards," says Thomas Schulz, Marketing Manager at Stölzle Lausitz, "after all, they document the quality of the products and the competence to realize something new."
