A Symbiosis of Nostalgia and Modernity
With the new BERLIN bar glass collection, Stölzle Lausitz revives the spirit of the era when the German capital became a magnet for art, freedom, and joie de vivre. The series blends nostalgic elegance with contemporary clarity—drawing inspiration from a time when Berlin, with its smoky taverns, legendary bars, and bustling ballrooms, evolved into one of the world’s most exciting metropolises.
The glasses embrace deliberately clean, linear shapes, combined with a wave-like relief structure in an Art Deco style. Fine grooves give them a sense of rhythmic movement—an echo of Shimmy, Charleston, Swing, and the vibrant nights of the 1920s. Rebellious yet refined, they elevate classic cocktails, long drinks, and modern creations into stylish experiences.
The five-pointed star at the base of the cocktail and balloon glasses is more than a design detail—it is a symbol of 1920s Berlin. Inspired by the Großer Stern in the Tiergarten, it also recalls the city’s dazzling nightlife: swing music, dance halls, and cinemas transformed Berlin into a radiant stage where everyone could discover their own star.
Each glass becomes a small tribute to Berlin’s zest for life—a sparkling moment that carries the history, design, and magic of the Roaring Twenties into the present.
The design also draws on the clear geometry of Art Deco—reduced, graphic, elegant—uniting modernity with ornament. At the same time, the star symbolizes departure, creativity, and curiosity: a miniature spark of the energy that once made Berlin one of the most sought-after cities in the world.
